SALES & ESTIMATING MANAGER

The function of this position is to manage the sales and estimating department. To include budgeting, estimating and sales while maintaining and promoting our corporate image of excellence through quality service on projects. Manage the department staff and ensure project profitability through efficient estimating methods.

JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Coordinate, manage and monitor the work within the estimating department
  • Achieve annual sales goals for the department at company established mark-ups through own sales and the sales of the estimating staff
  • Must be fluent in budgeting and financial reports
  • Ability to cultivate, establish and maintain client relationships
  • 8-9M in landscape, irrigation and hardscape sales
  • Represent and promote the company at related industry functions
  • Maintain client roster to assure follow up with potential client opportunities
  • Ability to convert install projects into maintenance projects
  • Manage and maintain job files in central file system to ensure timely, proper and effective project documentation
  • Prepare rationale statements to support the estimate identifying areas of weakness and or areas of risk
  • Prepare and/or supervise the preparation of estimates in accordance with specifications and approved procedure for all phases of the works from the agreed deliverables to the appropriate level of accuracy
  • Reviews contractual documents and modifications to determine scope of work and scope of changes.
  • Continuously monitor the performance of the estimating process
  • Direct and assist with the design, development and preparation of marketing materials
  • Direct regularly scheduled sales and marketing meetings
  • Meet deadlines with effective time management

EDUCATION

Preferred not required- College degree in business administration, management, construction or other applicable degree

EXPERIENCE

  • 10 years of experience in landscaping field
  • Solid working knowledge of estimating, project management, construction and contracting
  • Demonstrated sales skills
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • Effective business and management principles and practices
  • Effective project management principles and practices

LANDSCAPE CONSTRUCTION FOREMAN

Lead crew in efficiency, production, training and safety protocol.

  • Interacts with all clientele on job site to help ensure job satisfaction
  • Ability to work effectively with individuals of differing knowledge and background (i.e. clients, contractors, vendors, other designers)
  • Work directly with and lead a crew of 4 or more to complete assigned projects
  • Coach, train and supervise crew members
  • Read and execute designs and properly install landscapes from start to finish.
  • Efficiently complete projects on time and within budget
  • Extensive knowledge and experience in installing a variety of hardscape and soft scape applications, grading, irrigation, drainage and plant installation
  • Knowledge and experience with heavy equipment including trucks and trailers, mini-excavators, skid steer with various attachments, and small equipment and tools
  • Strong time management skills
  • Comply with all safety regulations and requirements
  • Maintain organized work areas
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • 3+ years of experience as a foreman in landscaping industry
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience supervising a crew

URBAN LANDCARE GARDENER

Responsible for delivery of quality services to our clients at residential, commercial and retail properties.

  • Maintain urban color plantings: installation, weeding, watering, shaping/deadheading, etc.
  • Perform hand pruning, weed pulling, leaf cleanup and other tasks to keep site in pristine condition
  • Plant plants, minor irrigation repairs, general landscape installation with direction, and dig holes
  • Knowledge of best practices for annual and perennial planting
  • Experience in a retail garden center or greenhouse
  • Upbeat and positive personality
  • Prior knowledge of landscape maintenance and horticultural practices
  • Must be detail oriented
  • Ability to work independently and efficiently with minimal direction
  • Requires a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record
  • Prior experience in high-end residential and commercial landscaping preferred
  • Seasonal position May – Oct or willingness to discuss other time options

LANDSCAPE CONSTRUCTION ASSISTANT FOREMAN

Responsible for delivery of quality and professional landscape construction services to our clients. Supporting the Foreman in daily responsibilities.

  • Work with the Foreman for equipment needed, repairs and crew staffing
  • Lead crew in efficiency, production, training and safety protocol
  • Train new employees
  • Report safety issues, landscape needs, equipment issues, staffing issues, and any other items during the course of a day immediately to Foreman or Operations Manager
    Maintain professional and clean appearance, and maintain professional and clean equipment and production
  • Time management is essential, all jobs have budgets that must be kept or company profitability will decrease; suggest improvements; recommend areas of improvement in production, staffing and equipment
  • Complete all timecards, site checklists, pre-trip and safety paperwork on time and legibly
  • Available during snow events

LANDSCAPE CONSTRUCTION LABORERS

Responsible for delivery of quality and professional landscape construction services to our clients.

  • Minimum of 1 year experience in landscaping or construction industry
  • Ability to work in various weather situations; rain, sleet, snow, cold and heat
  • Ability to work and operate equipment in a safe manner
  • Be available for snow removal during the snow season and other misc. as assigned.
  • Position requires a valid driver’s license and driving record that is insurable on the company policy
  • 1 year landscaping experience preferred

IRRIGATION FOREMAN

Responsible for assuring the irrigation team delivers quality and professional services to our customers.

  • Oversee and supervise teams of 3-5 employees daily efficiently and effectively
  • Work performed will include irrigation start-ups, may also include installing or upgrading systems
  • Technician will inspect, monitor, and repair irrigation systems to maximize efficiency, and to conform with local and state water guidelines/restrictions

  • Supervise and train crew members.
  • Effectively address employee concerns, safety concerns, equipment concerns
  • 2+ years of experience as a Lead or Foreman in the Landscape industry

LANDSCAPE MAINTENANCE ASSISTANT FOREMAN

Support the initiatives of the Maintenance Foreman by ensuring projects are done timely and within budget.

  • Coach and lead crews with Spring and Fall cleanup; mowing, pruning, edging, debris blowing, shrub and tree maintenance, lawn aeration, lawn enhancements.
  • Knowledgeable with installation best practices

  • 2+ years in landscaping industry as a team lead or supervisor

CHEMICAL APPLICATOR

Responsible for delivery of quality services to our clients. Maintain a professional and clean appearance. Assist in monitoring customer sites for turf grass pests and recommend applications when necessary. Maintain all applicable records of applications.

  • Possession of or ability to obtain MN Commercial Pesticide applicators license/Categories A&E
  • Mix and fill chemical tanks
  • Load spreader on trailer/remove spreader at locations
  • Apply chemicals to client landscape with a hose
  • Ability to move chemical application hose weighing 50+ pounds along several feet
  • Service commercial, residential and retail accounts
  • Deliver application records to Account Manager
  • Assist with landscape construction and maintenance as needed during peak season
  • Provide on-call snow removal during the winter season
  • High School Diploma
  • Experience in high-end residential/commercial landscaping
  • Knowledge of landscape best practices
  • Experience as a pesticide applicator

All Positions are required to assist in fall clean up and spring clean up operations as well as assist in snow plowing/snow removal operations.
